Let's make a DIY Diffuser!

To save my room acoustics :p

When I watch Youtube channel of other musicians,

Stuff of room acoustics are so nice and envious!!!

If i have my own control room,I will Tune like their!

But now, My room is small. So It is overwhelmed by speaker.

My room has many Low Frequency booming and bad eco.

To resolve this problem any better, I decide to make flimsy diffuser.

I make plan that setting diffuser on my speaker's First Reflection points.

In this making, I make some rules.
First rule is not cost money a lot,
Second rule is not spend a lot of time.
Because Their is opportunity cost.
I prefer buy a good speaker or guitar than Buying a nice acoustic materials.
I prefer spend time practicing guitar and writing a song.

And I go to stationery store!

 This is my selection.

15 pieces of normal sponges, and glue, and 2 boards of styrofoam.

I cost just nearly 5$.

I take the size, and Start to cut!!!

This part is best hard...

 I try to arrange bricks through my sketch.

This bricks are sponges... so It absorb glue a lot.

Thanks to run out of glue.. I have to go store one more time...-_-

Arrangements and size are not regular~

Irregular arrangements are good looking some how.

This is completion!

I wanted to color, but I predict it cost lots of paint!

So I just leave it at that.

In this photo, diffusers looks so little :)

The point of sound, Room sound changes dry a little!

I don't know what is more beneficial.

But I prefer setting after!

After version of room are little more nice to look :D

This making are not made by professional materials.

It just for fun and my internal desire.

This making process is very fun!

기타를 즐겨 치기 시작한 이래 이줄 저줄 많이 사용해 왔다.

처음엔 3천원 미만의 기타줄을 묶음으로 사서 갈고 갈고 했었다가

점차 마틴 다다리오 등등 이것저것 사용해 보았지만, 

엘릭서는 너무 비싸서 차마 구매지 못했었다^^;

군대 전역하고 낙원상가 돌다가 전역 기념(?)으로 구매해 보았다.

When I was beginner, I have to practice changing guitar strings.
So I use only cheap string set. Cheap string set can change frequently.
And I become enjoy a new string sounds itself :)
Gradually, I use martin, daddario, etc string sets.
But elixir string sets are so expensive to me...

To celebrate discharging from duty military service, I buy elixir string set!

반들반들하고 광이 난다^^

핑거스타일을 좋아하는  난 연주할때의 깊은 저음은 연주자 본인에겐 매력적이지만,

다른 팝 음악에 사용할때는 아직 내가 저음을 살리지 못해 선호하지 않는다.

믹스할때 저음역대의 부밍이 상당히 거슬리기 때문이다.

엘릭서는 통기타의 까칠한 고음역대를 잘 살려주는, 

믹스에 잘 묻는 소리를 들려주었다.

I love fingerstyle play, and Deep low frequencies in acoustic guitar are so attractive to player.

But In mix process, Low frequencies make big booming sounds.

So I have to use High pass filter.

Deep low frequencies in acoustic guitar make me irritate in mixing process.

Elixir strings have nice high frequency sound!

This sound coordinate well with other instrument.

Avril Lavigne - Nobody's home

어릴적 듣고 굉장히 멋지다 생각했어서 이번기회에 녹음해 보았다.

Fender Tele로 녹음했고 통기타는 이번 엘릭서를 사용했다.

핑거스타일같은 독주가 아닌 이러한 형태에서는

잘 묻어나는게 최고인데 만족스럽다.

핑거스타일 연주하며 갖고 놀기에도 줄이 탱글탱글하고

새 줄같은 상태가 상당히 오래 살아있어 기타에 자주 손이 간다.

다다리오 이래 비싼값을 하는 아주 만족스러운 줄이다.

내가 좋아하는 기타리스트 정성하씨 메인 줄이라 하여 나도 써보고싶었는데

소리 면에서나 연주적인 면에서나 탱글탱글함이 정말 맘에든다.

When I was child, Avril Lavigne's guitar sounds are so fantastic!

So I record Nobody's Home to test Elixir string. 

I used Fender telecaster and Crafter acoustic guitar.

I think Elixir is good at backing in Rock or Pop or other music.

Of course, It's good at Solo play too.

In fingerstyle play, I amazed at straight and bright sound!

Guitarist SungHa Jung use only Elixir.

He is my one of favorite guitarist :)

Elixir coated with something.. and  I think this coating make sound brighter than other strings.

And This string maintain new string state very long time.

Personally, My favorite string set is daddario, but Elixir is nice too.

Now, Choice of daddario or Elixir is depends on my musical situation!

Well made contents have Intro video.
These Intro video have simple sound effects or medley.

New beginning and Macbook Pro

Macbook pro retina 13'

군복무 기간동안 필요한 모든 장비를 구비해 전역하고자 했었다.

내가 격오지에서 근무했기에 돈을 모을 수 있었다.

SM57마이크, 스피커, 각종 자잘한 장비들을 구매했고

최종적으로 작업용 노트북을 구매하기 위해 돈을 모았다.

학생때, 레슨을 받거나 어떤 활동을 하던 간에 휴대용 DAW작업환경이 굉장히 필요했다.

드디어 말년휴가때 동생과 신세계 애플 매장으로 향한다 ㅠ

During the military service period, I could save money more than other soliders.

Because I worked in danger area.

Every vacation, I bought recording equipment like SM57 mic, monitoring speaker etc..

Finally I wanted to bought laptop.

When I was college student, I really need portable DAW system.

Eventually, I was discharged from military service as sergeant 

and I could buy a laptop!!! 

일시불 결제와 기쁨의 눈물 ㅠ

평생 윈도우만 써오다 맥으로 갈아타게 된 이유는... 

내가 따라다니며 배운 형들이나 교수님들이 모두 로직과 프로툴을 사용하셨었다.

로직을 사용해보니 내장악기와 플러그인 퀄리티에 깜짝 놀랐다.

앰프디자이너와 튜너가 제일 만족스럽다.

제2의 인생이 시작되는 시점인 전역과 함께 맞이한 맥북.

그토록 바라던 작업환경과 전역이 함께해 너무나 기쁘다ㅋ.

I used only window pc entire life. 

My college professor and nice guitar player(my same period) use only logic and protools.

The reason transfer pc to mac is these my role models.

I used cubase Le in pc, but I learn DAW through their mac system.

I have used mac system and logic few days.

Amp designer and tuner is my favorite in logic.

Internal instrument and plug-ins are terrific to me

I'm happy to get great portable daw workstation and new beginning of my life!

It's time to be a good musician~ :)
